The Immigrant Access Fund (IAF) of Canada provides financial loans to immigrants, including refugee, who arrive in Canada in possession of professional skills and knowledge and yet who face barriers to full employment in Canada.
In loans of up to $10,000 the IAF allows for newcomers to Canada to gain the proper licensing and training that they need to gain employment in their respective fields. The loan can be used for things such as exams, training, qualification assessments, professional association fees, books and course materials as well as living expenses while working through the Canadian training that they require.

Orientation to Ontario Program
Orientation to Ontario is a bilingual pilot project which is co-funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada as well as the Ministry of Citizenship, Immigration and International Trade. The program is meant to help ease the transition of newcomers by providing access to information about settling in Ontario and ensuring that they make solid community connections as soon after their arrival as possible. The program offers workshops in various areas around the province.
