Self-care is so important in the context of society today, considering how fast-paced it is and how draining our lives can be, it is important to take the time to check in with ourselves and do those little things that make us feel happy, relaxed, or fulfilled.
Self-care can look like many different things and take shape in whatever way suits your needs. Some examples include taking a bubble bath with a glass of wine, scheduling a spa day (whether at home or in an actual spa), taking a walk alone, listening to music, journalling, going out to dinner with a friend, speaking to a therapist, or allowing ourselves to sleep in occasionally.
Ultimately, it is important to schedule these little dates with ourselves whenever we can in order to maintain our well-being. As you've probably heard before, you can't pour from an empty cup. In order to be the best support for others, the best friend, the best parent, the best partner, etc. we must first be the best version of ourselves, and self-care is a great way to work towards that end goal.
