Caregiver Support - Mental Health

Are you taking care of someone in your family who is sick, disabled, elderly or frail? We know the demand of doing so can be high, and the mental, emotional, and physical strength necessary to do so can at times feel extreme or overwhelming. Often, caregivers are taking care of others while also trying to balance their own work, social, and family life. This can lead to mental health issues such as anxiety and depression. As well, accepting a shift in caregiver roles from parents to children can be difficult and overwhelming. Caregiver support can help alleviate some of the stress that can be involved in being responsible for another person’s care, by sharing the responsibility of caregiving, and also offering support to the caregiver to help balance the demands and challenges they may face. Are you currently caring for a friend or family member, but finding it hard to manage your own mental health while doing so? Anyone, at any time, can face mental health issues. If you, or a friend or loved one need empathetic and understanding sources of support and information to help manage your mental health, Kinjunxion is here to help. There are many options for caregiver relief including assistance with meal preparation, transportation, personal care and household chores. In order to take care of someone else, you also need to take care of yourself. If you are looking for caregiver relief options in your neighbourhood, we have the resources you need. You are not alone. Connect with others who may be going through the same thing, find professional help and resources near you. The Kinjunxion community is here to help.
