International Credentials - Newcomers

What are international credentials? This term refers to education or certain qualifications that have been earned outside of Canada. There are several reasons that you may need to have your credentials assessed. If you, a friend or family member are immigrating to Canada, and you would like to apply to go to school here, or work here, you may need to have your education from another country assessed to see if it meets minimum requirements in Canada. For instance, if you are mid-way through earning a certain university degree, and would like to finish that degree in Canada, you may need to update or re-take certain courses. Or, the education and minimum requirements for certain professional or trade jobs may be different than those in your home country, and again, require you to update, or re-take certain courses in order for you to be eligible for those jobs. It may feel daunting to think that you have to return to school for a program that you have already completed. However, in many cases, the upgrade needs are minimal and can be completed quickly. There are several organizations responsible for evaluating qualifications. Learn more here, and find the resources you need to start on your journey to working or studying in Canada. You are not alone. Connect with others who may be going through the same thing, find professional help and resources near you. The Kinjunxion community is here to help.
