What Is An Invitation To Apply (ITA)?
posted on May 23, 2018
There are multiple ways you can apply to immigrate to Canada depending on your career, age, marital status, education, and many more. However, there is an invitation called an Invitation to Apply (ITA), which “allows some people who submitted a profile to Express Entry to apply for permanent residence.” Usually, the invitation, if accepted, is processed in 6 months or less. To be qualified for an ITA, you have to:
- Have a highly-ranked Express Entry profile
- Have a valid job offer
- Have been nominated by a province or territory
After submitting your profile for Express Entry, you will receive an ITA during the waiting period if you qualify. To increase your chances of getting an ITA, you can contact provinces and territories for their Provincial Nominee Programs, secure a valid job offer in Canada, improve your language skills, improve your education, and get more relevant work experience.
After you receive your ITA, you will have 90 days to apply for permanent residence.
